Get Waisted looks at Spring

It might be cold out, but it’s never too early to start channelling spring.

It’s the most confusing time of year. In much of the country, the cold weather is just gaining momentum yet we’re being inundated with images of all the freshest spring fashion trends. All of a sudden, your winter-appropriate wardrobe can feel, well, not that appropriate or at least not that current. It’s time to lean into spring fashion — and yes, it’s totally doable.

Working warm weather trends into your look while temperatures aren’t all that warm sounds a lot more challenging than it actually is. Sure, most of us are not necessarily going to rock sundresses and sandals before June but there is, in fact, plenty of on-trend newness available now for the picking. From pastels to embellishments to prints. Here are some ways for you to inject a little spring update into your closet right now — without freezing your butt off.

Hoop earrings — and patterned suits —

are in it to win it this fall. Go big or go home.

Victoria Beckham fan, we presume? At her Fall 2017 show, the designer offered us one major style precept: pair structured, slightly oversized outerwear with sheer chiffon skirts and slouchy, knee-high leather boots. This street style star sealed the deal with square-frame shades and a very oversized folded clutch.

Wear prints and multiple lapels and blues and reds together.

With the holiday party season just around the corner, investing in a metallic plissé skirt makes all the sense. Here’s a cool day-to-night dressing idea: style yours with a colourful tee and shiny (pink) pumps.

Canadian tux

This off-kilter take on the Canadian tux is a bit devoid of sex appeal. But who cares? It’ll up your cool factor exponentially, why not give a  touch of country style by donning a dungaree instead of just jeans and either wearing a denim shirt underneath it or a denim jacket on top. It’s not your usual Canadian tuxedo look but it sure is something that will catch the attention of others.

Showgoers in Milan were particularly fond of head-to-toe red looks. For an easy and chic fall outfit, pair a cosy knit with velvet pants. Keep your essentials close/emphasize your physique with a waist-cinching belt and bag.
