Chestnut Tree Ball

The Ball is the highlight of the Brighton social calendar. It is one of the largest charity events outside of London. “We are so proud at Get Waisted to be supporting Chestnut Tree House again this year”. Toni is still deciding what design to wear on the night. Chestnut Tree raised a massive £516,230 in 2018, We will be doing more in the run-up to the ball about this amazing charity and ways you could offer your support to this worthwhile charity.

Supporting Children and Young People

Chestnut Tree is a children’s charity providing hospice care services and community support for children and young people with progressive life-shortening conditions throughout East and West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and South East Hampshire.

In Sussex alone, around 1,000 families have life-limited children to care for. Chestnut Tree House offers support for the whole family. This including psychological and bereavement support, end of life and short break care and sibling support.

It currently costs well over £3.5m each year to provide all the care services provided by Chestnut Tree House. Offering a free service to families with children with life-threatening illnesses. The government provides less than 7p in every pound. So Chestnut relies heavily on the generosity, help, and support of the people of Sussex.

The Charities goal is to ensure the best quality of life, for the children, young people, and their families in their care. To offer a total package of practical, social and spiritual support throughout each child’s life, however short it may be.
